I’ve always been intrigued by those hidden little nooks of the forest, mossy spaces between roots or holes in trees where white rabbits might hide.

When Aaron and I first began CDT, our concept was to mesh our trades - his wood mine glass- and we created many sculptural pieces in this inset style … The combo of the solid and sturdy wood in contrast with fragile colorful glass is truly a magical match.
 
Over the years we still combined them but we wanted to take it back to the start with our new Woodland Portal designs.
 
Up next in our woodland portals is a piece I’ve wanted to make for some time, with every aspect of a butterflies metamorphosis. There’s a bunch of fun movable pieces in this design and it took some tries to make it feel balanced … hope you love!
